An articulated flatbed trailer is quite literally as the name suggests, an entirely flat, level ‘bed’ with no sides or roof. This permits for fast and simple loading and unloading of products, and consequently, they’re used to transport large and heavy loads that are not delicate or susceptible to rain. For the transport of abnormal loads, flatbed trucks are ideal for those loads that require more space than is available on a closed body trailer.
Chris Bennett (Heavy Haulage) Ltd operates a varied fleet of trucks that can provide for all your haulage requirements, but the workhorses of the fleet are the Scania 6 x 2 R540 tractor units which pull our 45ft flatbed trailers. These trailers are fully equipped with all the necessary equipment to transport your goods safely and securely to their destination and can carry up to 28 tonnes. All our drivers are experienced in sheeting and securing loads, ensuring that you don’t need to worry about your cargo. We cover the whole of the UK and can provide a first-class service from every corner of the country.
For those longer loads, we can provide extendable flatbeds of up to 98 feet (29.7 metres).
Our drivers complete regular online and classroom training as well as site induction courses and as a company we hold a Transport for London FORS Gold accreditation, meaning that we are your ideal provider of transport to the main construction contracts in London.
